On the whole, GUNDAY has a credible story to tell, is packed with unexpected twists that keep you on the edge and offers entertainment in large doses. This racy, gripping masala fare is sure to hit the pot of gold at the box-office!Visit Bollywood Hungama Site for more

The actor goes from spectacularly subdued to hysterical and hamming within a span of seconds.Their onscreen ladylove Priyanka Chopra exudes unflinching glamour and pluck, in burlesque costumes and Dhaka saris, only to be dumbed down into a namby-pamby.Finally, there’s Irrfan Khan, wearing the expression of a man standing in the middle of a mess -- that is Gunday.

That leaves the space clear for Irrfan to chew the scenery, which he does with customary relish. He’s the only one who is aware that he is sending up a ’70s-style Bollywood cop, and shows us he is having a blast, even if it is from the past. The rest is strictly, and depressingly, by-the-numbers.

Again to sum up, the entire look and feel of the movie is of 80s Bollywood. It`s like travelling back in time, where there were no metro-sexual heroes and toned modern heroines. It is not a Valentine’s Day date, but the men should make a day out to celebrate their friendship with this movie. Though the film has nothing new to offer, one can watch it for nostalgia’s sake!Visit Zee News for more

It really is difficult to keep a two-and-a-half-hour film from losing its wheels when its engine room is bereft of the propellant of genuine inspiration.Visit NDTV Site for more
Gunday is like the dusty minefields it is set in. Its loud explosions deliver loads of coal, but no trace of any diamonds.
It is certainly not the ideal date film on this Valentine’s Day weekend.
